This shake is my motivation to run. Seriously. It's so good that I've decided that I only get to make myself one of these Mocha Protein Energy Shakes if I go run on my treadmill first--not to burn off the calories or anything like that, but because it's the tastiest post-workout snack!

I try not to use food as a reward, but this has been a healthy motivator for me. Not only do I get a great workout, but I also get to enjoy something tasty and good for me!

The collagen hydrolysate (a form of gelatin) contains protein and amino acids and is awesome for healing the gut. Gelatin is also great for your skin, nails, and hair. So it's a win-win-win for me!

Mocha Protein Energy Shake

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients except collagen into a blender and blend until smooth
  2. Add collagen and blend for a few more seconds
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

This recipe makes about 32oz, which fills two large glasses. The ingredients are very easy to cut in half if you only need one serving!

So simple!
