Plant Therapy Essential Oils {Review & Giveaway}

Essential oils are like the teen pop sensation of the healthy living world. Everyone is talking about them! I may have been a bit late in the game when it comes to using essential oils, due in part to my skeptical nature, but they are an important part of my life now!

When I first decided to invest in some essential oils for myself, my home and my family, I did my research.

But unfortunately, I became more confused and overwhelmed by all the contradictory information and slandering of different EO companies. No one could agree on anything! Frankly, I was not impressed.

So when I saw an ad for a company called Plant Therapy, I decided to check them out. I was even more skeptical of EO companies now and figured I would be spending an arm and a leg for products of mediocre quality.

Thankfully, I was proven wrong, and I was able to start purchasing essential oils and supporting a company whose mission I could get behind.

“At Plant Therapy, we believe that essential oils and essential oil accessories should be affordable without compromising quality.”

Any business needs to make money if its going to be able to grow; but a really good business knows that there's more to it than just making a sale.

Here are 3 reasons I am in support of this company, besides its products:

  1. They actually care. If they didn't care about people they would not care about providing high quality products. And they certainly wouldn't care about making them affordable.
  2. Their customer service is phenomenal, which relates to the first point. For instance, I had a mix up with one of my orders--missing product was shipped to me immediately. I had a diffuser that stopped working--they bent over backwards to make sure I was refunded and happy with how things were sorted out. I was always able to reach someone via email or phone; and not just some random person--it is ONE person who handles the customer service so there's no transferring to different customer service reps to get things sorted out.
  3. They ship to Canada for very reasonable rates. For the roughly 50% of my readers who are from Canada, you know how nice this is.

With all that stated, it should be no surprise that I contacted Plant Therapy to partner with them. I want to help their company grow and reach more people while getting to try out awesome essential oils that will benefit my health!

The people at Plant Therapy graciously accepted my proposal and sent me two awesome EO's to try that I hadn't used yet: Lavender and Clary Sage.

Lavender Essential Oil

Plant Therapy Essential Oils {Review & Giveaway} 2

Lavender is the all-purpose essential oil. It's good for everything, it seems--From treating burns to depression! It has also been shown to help relieve allergy symptoms, headaches, and acne which are all issues in our home.

Even more exciting are a couple recent studies (like this one) that have shown lavender's effectiveness as an antioxidant and blood sugar regulator. While more studies are definitely needed before we know for sure, it certainly doesn't hurt to use lavender as an extra measure of protection!

In my experience since I started using lavender, I find it to be an excellent choice for myself and my kids. When added to coconut oil and massaged onto Baby Bear's feet and body, its calming effect has been almost instantaneous on a few occasions.

I also enjoy the calming effect it has on me during the night, plus I use it for myself when I have a headache or when I am feeling stressed.

Clary Sage Essential Oil

Plant Therapy Essential Oils {Review & Giveaway} 2

Before I started using essential oils, the only ones I knew of were lavender, peppermint, and orange. Clary Sage was not something I had ever heard about.

After doing a bit of research, I will be recommending Clary Sage essential oil to women everywhere!

Clary Sage has a beautiful fruity & floral smell that I love--but more than that--its therapeutic benefits make it a must-have for women. It is a natural hormone balancer, which helps to relieve a myriad of women's issues: PMS, painful cramps, hot flashes, depression, stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Oh, and it's an aphrodisiac too. But you don't need that, right?

Since I am still exclusively breastfeeding little Baby Bear, I haven't had a chance to see what Clary Sage does for PMS symptoms and cramps. However, I have used it by itself and in combination with lavender when feeling really moody or stressed and it helps a lot!

How to use essential oils:

To use on skin, essential oils can be diluted in a carrier oil and for general use, they can be smelled straight from the bottle or used in a diffuser. You can also get special necklaces so you can have your favourite essential oil on you all day.

Some people do choose to ingest essential oils, but it is generally not recommended. If you do choose to ingest essential oils, be sure to purchase high-quality, organic oils from a company you can trust!
